VoiceThread Update (Summer 2021)

An updated version of VoiceThread's Assignment Tool will be released during Summer 2021 (June 30 2021)

As part of the transition from the current version of VoiceThread Assignments to the new version of Assignments, please note that all your older assignments will continue to work seamlessly, so you don't need to rebuild anything or warn your students about an interruption. Additionally, there is no down time required for the transition.  

You have until June 30, 2021 to migrate at your own speed, and then all remaining courses will be updated automatically.

What is VoiceThread?

VoiceThread (video overview) is an interactive discussion tool that allows students and their instructors to engage in an asynchronous discussion using a variety of communication mediums that include:

Screen Capture
Screen Annotation

This tool is fully integrated with the Blackboard course environment and found under Tools.

What's new with VoiceThread Assignments

Highlights include: 
A streamlined interface 
More control for instructors 
Editable assignments 
A "student gallery" so students can easily see classmates' VoiceThreads 
VoiceThread has created several resources to make the transition as seamless as possible. These resources include the following Guides:
You may use the new Assignment Tool prior to June 30, 2021 by enabling it for your course.  For instructions on how to enable the new Assignment Tool, please refer to the "How to Enable New Assignments" Guide through the link above.
