BEFORE YOU ARRIVE
We can’t wait to welcome incoming first-year and transfer students to Villanova! Please review our new student to-do list as you plan ahead of New Student Orientation. Many of the items can be completed in advance; some are required, while others are encouraged. Additional items, such as V-Bill and Bursar information, may be found on the new student checklist tab on MyNova.
SPRING 2024
- Mark your calendars for New Student Orientation and Transfer Orientation: Thursday, Aug. 22-Sunday, Aug. 25.
- Make travel plans to arrive on campus for Move-In Day on Wednesday, Aug. 21 (students will have the opportunity to select an exact time to move in to their residence halls; further details will be emailed later this summer).
- Log in to MyNova to review the New Student Checklist.
- Consider attending a pre-Orientation program for First-Year students like the Connections Retreat or UNITAS Weekend.
- Explore the laptop requirements by college on the University Information Technology (UNIT) website.
- Villanova provides Xfinity on Campus streaming services to any computer and select mobile and video streaming services, such as Apple and Android, for students who live on campus. Learn more about setting up and registering your devices and account.
- Review the Disclosure of Student Records informational page.
- Discuss with your family if you would like to complete the Student Consent to Disclosure of Educational Records form to grant your parent or guardian access to your educational records.
- Keep an eye on your mailbox for the First-Year Family Guide, mailing in early summer.

MAY 2024
- BEFORE MAY 31: Complete your Housing Application.
- BEFORE MAY 31: Consider registering for Communitas, our learning communities, where students live together in a residence hall on South Campus, take a specially designed seminar class, and enjoy unique co-curricular programming around a theme.
JUNE 2024
- BEFORE JUNE 18: Sign up for your meal plan. First-year students living on campus must select a plan from Tier 1. Those who do not select a plan during the online registration period will be placed in the Any Time 7-Day plan.

- Read the weekly VU101 email to stay up to date on information about starting your first year at Villanova.
JULY 2024
- BEFORE JULY 1: Upload your medical forms to the Student Health Portal.
- BEFORE JULY 7: Upload a photo for your Villanova Wildcard (your Student ID).
- BEFORE JULY 15: Select a size for your Nova Nation Fan shirt. Log in to MyNova, then search "Nova Nation Fan Shirt."
- Check your Villanova email regularly. Important information about housing, financial aid and summer deadlines will be sent to your Villanova email over the summer.
- If necessary, review payment, billing, direct deposit and borrower information through the Office of Financial Assistance and the Bursar's Office.
AUGUST 2024
- BEFORE AUGUST 1: If you choose, rent a dorm-size refrigerator from myMicrofridge to be delivered to your room before move-in.
- AUGUST 7-15: All packages mailed to campus must arrive between Aug. 7 and Aug. 15 to be delivered to a storage location near your residence hall during move-in.
- BEFORE AUGUST 18: Complete the Academic Integrity Training, the CliftonStrengths assessment AlcoholEdu online course, and the Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging online course. Instructions on how to register and complete the courses will be communicated to you over the summer.
- Check MyNova for your fall class schedule in mid-August. (Note: Schedules are not finalized until mid-August. If you see pieces of your schedule being built before mid-August, know that this is not official.)
- Download the NovaGuides app and discover the Orientation Guide for schedules, maps, and more. Enabling push notifications will guarantee the most updated information and updates, including changes due to weather.
- Sign up for Nova Alert, which delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to any mobile device or email you choose. You may also add devices for parents or family members wishing to receive Nova Alerts.
- Download our Villanova-approved mobile apps, including Nova Now and Nova Safe.
- Villanova uses Duo Security as a safeguard against cybercrime and to protect the University against cyber attacks. Students are required to use Duo multifactor authentication to access web-based Villanova systems and applications, such as NOVASIS, Zoom and MyNova. Follow these step-by-step instructions to register your phone or tablet and install the application on your device.
- Open a NovaBucks account. This restricted spending account allows you to enjoy the convenience of purchasing power all across campus, and includes a 5% discount at the bookstore and in select off-campus locations.
SEPTEMBER 2024
- BEFORE SEPTEMBER 13: Enroll in or opt out of health insurance coverage offered through United Healthcare. Villanova automatically enrolls and bills undergraduate students for coverage unless the student waives coverage online. Health insurance is mandatory for all undergraduate students.
