We ask for your cooperation with your assigned arrival time. Students are welcome to arrive on campus any time after their assigned time. Check-in is also available from 6:30-8 p.m. for those who cannot arrive during the day and on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 9 a.m.-noon.

COMMUTER STUDENTS

Reminders for Commuter Students during Orientation

Attendance: New students who do not live on campus are still expected to attend the four-day New Student Orientation Program. While the Commuter Student Picnic is an Opening Day event just for commuters, all other Orientation activities are geared toward every new student, not just resident first year students. New Student Orientation officially starts at 1 p.m. on on Thursday, Aug. 22 and will end late in the evening for all new students.

Transportation: Students who commute can expect to be on campus late each day during Orientation (Thursday, Aug. 22-Sunday, Aug. 25). If new students will not be driving themselves to campus, they should arrange for transportation home each evening, before arriving to campus. Additionally, there will be evening Orientation events on Thursday, Aug. 22. Students and parents may want to drive separately to campus on Thursday, Aug. 22.

Parking: Commuter students are eligible for parking and will be able to purchase a parking permit during the first week of school. For detailed parking information, please check the Parking and Transportation website. Commuting students may park in the I-1 Ithan Garage (behind the Mullen Center for the Performing Arts) for New Student Orientation and parking permits are not required during the four-day Orientation Program.

Meals: Your meals will be provided during Orientation if you and your Orientation group eat together in the dining halls.

Wildcards: New commuting students will pick up their Wildcards at the Commuter Lunch or at the afternoon meeting with their Orientation Counselor on Thursday, Aug. 22.
