Starting January 1, 2023, full time and part time employees may schedule one floating holiday for a religious/cultural observation or for a special occasion not recognized on the official holiday schedule. This observance must be approved in advance with your supervisor in order to ensure operational staffing needs. Employees hired on or after December 1st will not receive the floating holiday for that year.
All PT employees will be entitled to 5 hours of holiday credit on Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, MLK Day and Easter Monday along with one (1) floating holiday. Employees in certain departments may be required to work on these holidays.

In order to receive holiday pay, an employee must work his/her scheduled workdays before and after the holiday, unless such absence is occasioned by illness or accident, in which case, the day the employee returns to work he/she shall furnish the University with a certificate from a licensed physician stating that the specific absence and length of such absence was due to an illness or accident.
Part time employees starting mid-year will receive a prorated share of holidays in the year in which they start.
