Grantsmanship: How to Develop a Winning Proposal

Grantwriting: The All-Important First Page

Many funding organizations require an executive summary of sorts to open the proposal. This summary page typically stands apart from the rest of the proposal and serves as an introduction to the larger proposal. To mistake this as a mere abstract or last minute add-on to the proposal is to miss the larger function of this page. It serves as an important first impression to pitch your project, give the big picture of your project, and win over reviewers. Understanding how to craft these pages before you start submitting proposals can prepare you for success. This workshop will show the anatomy of a well-written “first page,” and analyze sample pages so participants can see how to write these effectively.
