Office of Decision Support and Data Integrity

The Office of Decision Support and Data Integrity (ODSDI) is charged with advancing a culture of data sharing, data stewardship and data-informed decision-making at Villanova. Central to this work will be the creation of a strong and sustainable data infrastructure and enhanced data governance through a collaborative university-wide framework.

ODSDI will continue to:

  • Provide data analytics support to campus leaders for strategic planning and decision making
  • Regularly engage with business units and colleges to improve data collection, documentation and improve processes related to the external reporting of data
  • Provide oversight of the Data Governance Structure and serve as a resource
  • Ensure the accuracy and accountability of the University’s data

Student Statistics

Enrollment Statistics

The interactive dashboard includes headcount and FTE, enrollment by majors, credit hours consumed by students and credit hours offered by department.

The interactive dashboard includes three tabs showing full-time and part-time faculty profile and credit hours instructed by full-time and part-time faculty.

Diversity Statistics

The interactive dashboard includes three separate tabs showing trends for student, full-time and part-time faculty. The staff dashboard is being developed and will be available soon.

Externally Reported Data

The Common Data Set (CDS) is an annual survey in which colleges and universities can provide data and information to the public using standard definitions developed collaboratively by leading college guides and the higher education community.

Data Governance

The coordination and collaboration of people, processes and technology across the University to manage institutional data.

Trina Das, PhD, directs the Office of Decision Support and Data Integrity, providing leadership with cross-functional data-informed strategies to help shape institutional planning and decision-making at Villanova. Reporting to the Provost, she is charged with shaping the University's culture for data governance and supporting infrastructure investments, and managing personnel and processes to improve the quality, integrity and availability of data.

Dr. Das previously served as Director for Policy and Planning Analysis at Villanova, performing sophisticated research and quantitative analytics in support of the University’s long-term strategic planning. In this role, she directed, executed and supervised quantitative and qualitative research projects relating to Villanova’s operations; conducted analysis, modeling and forecasting studies, interpreted findings, organized and presented conclusions, and consulted with faculty members and all levels of administration.

Prior to joining Villanova in 2016, Dr. Das was Director of Enrollment Analytics at Bryn Mawr College and Associate Director of Institutional Research and Assessment at Holy Family University. She previously spent ten years as an enrollment management analytics specialist and consultant with Maguire Associates, a private research-based consulting firm specializing in higher education.

Dr. Das holds a PhD and MA in Economics from Clark University and a MSc and BSc in Economics from the University of Calcutta.

In her current role, Sarah is responsible for administering the university-wide data governance program that aligns with the strategic initiatives of the University to support data informed decision making and enhanced institutional effectiveness. She works in close collaboration with data trustees, data domain stewards and operational data stewards, as well as other support and operational units and University IT.

Previously, Sarah was Director of Business Analytics for Enrollment Management at Villanova, responsible for external reporting for the division as well as supporting various student-related analytical initiatives where ensuring accuracy and transparency is of the utmost importance. She has been a member of the Information Management Group for 11 years in data and process-focused roles that continually worked to improve availability to information. Sarah is currently managing the implementation of an initial phase of the Argos reporting tool that will begin to evolve the operational reporting of student data.

Sarah earned a Master's in Public Administration from Villanova University and her BS in Liberal Studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania.
