RESOURCES AND OPPORTUNITIES

Philosophy Club

The Philosophy Club provides a chance for students who share a common enthusiasm for philosophy to get together and talk, socialize, and plan special projects and lectures.  In past years the club has sponsored lectures on "God and Evil," "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance," "Poetry and History," "The Myth of Sisyphus," and "The Philosophy of Woody Allen."  It has invited speakers from within the Philosophy Department, from other departments within the University, and from the Villanova community.

Members of the Philosophy Club have also made presentations to the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee of the Philosophy Department, providing valuable student input on matters of educational policy.  The Philosophy Club is not restricted to Philosophy Majors.  It welcomes all who might wish to share in enjoying Philosophy.

Philosophy Honors Society

The Pennsylvania Mu chapter of Phi Sigma Tau, the Philosophy Honor Society, accepts applications in the fall.  Students must have completed or be registered for at least two courses in philosophy and be in the top third of their class.  For more information about the honor society and its activities, please contact faculty advisor Stephen Napier.

College and University Resources

In addition to resources and opportunities through the Philosophy Department, Villanova provides support to undergraduate students in all aspects of their collegiate experience and beyond through the centralized services of the Office for Undergraduate Students, Office of Education Abroad and Career Center.
