Jean Ridgeway to present poster at inaugural oncology conference

Jean A. Ridgeway MSN, APN, NP-C, AOCN, a student in the College of Nursing’s Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program will present a poster at the first annual JADPRO (Journal of the Advanced Practitioner in Oncology Journal) Live CE event "Transforming Oncology Practice"  for advanced practitioners in oncology in St. Petersburg, Fla. January 24-26.

Ridgeway, an advanced practice nurse in the Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology/Oncology at The University of Chicago Medicine, is a member of the MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndromes) Foundation International Nurse Leadership Board, and on behalf of this board, submitted her abstract titled "Practical Guide to Bone Marrow Sampling for Suspected Myelodysplastic Syndromes.”  The information is vital to practitioners as proficiency in this procedure is critical to obtain high-quality bone marrow specimens to facilitate accurate diagnoses, and minimize patient discomfort and risk.
