The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing made a noteworthy appearance at the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) 36th Annual Scientific Sessions held at Boston Park Plaza on April 4-5, 2024, earning two student awards, presenting 17 posters and papers, and leading one symposium.

Students earned second place in two categories for their valuable contributions to nursing research:

Maggie Runyon

Individual School-Selected Student Poster: “Caring Beyond Cure: Perspectives of Pediatric Oncology Nurses on Palliative and End of Life Care,” senior PJ Scarperi with Meredith MacKenzie Greenle, PhD, RN, CRNP, CNE

Clinical Nurse Researcher/Scholar Poster: “Perinatal Trauma-Informed Care Education Associated with Decreased Nurse Secondary Traumatic Stress,” Maggie Runyon, PhD student, with Mandi Irby, BSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, LCCE, NSI-L1, The BIRTH Nurse; Paula Rojas Landivar, MSN, RNC-OB, C-EFM, Trauma-Informed Birth Nurse
