Villanova Law Welcomes Four Visiting Assistant Professors for 2017-18

Villanova Law brings practitioners and scholars to campus each year through its ongoing Visiting Assistant Professor program, providing guidance and mentorship as these individuals prepare for careers in academia. The Law School welcomes four visiting faculty members—Orli Oren-Kolbinger, Marissa Mole Bostick, Kerin Bischoff Clapp and Jillian Schroeder-Fenlon—for the 2017-2018 Academic Year. These individuals bring impressive credentials in both scholarship and practice to the Villanova Law classroom.

In addition to serving as a Visiting Assistant Professor, Orli Oren-Kolbinger also serves as Fellow in Law, Business and Economics. Through this fellowship, which augments Villanova’s efforts at the intersection of law and business—Prof. Oren-Kolbinger will teach related coursework, collaborate with faculty and engage in research and policy analysis.

Orli Oren-Kolbinger

Fellow in Law, Business and Economics and Visiting Assistant Professor

 

Education:

Bar-Ilan University (PhD in Law, expected 2017); University of Haifa (LLM in Law; LLB in Law; BA in Economics)

 

Orli Oren-Kolbinger most recently was a Fulbright Post-Doctoral Scholar and Michigan Grotius Research Scholar at the University of Michigan Law School. Her research combines legal scholarship and economic analysis. Her PhD dissertation focused on empirical analysis of extralegal parameters on judicial decision-making in Israeli income tax cases, while her LLM thesis was an applied economic analysis on the issue of plea bargaining in cases with evidentiary difficulties. As a practitioner, she was a Military Prosecutor for the Military Legal Corps Unit of the Israeli Defense Forces from 2004 to 2008.

Marissa Molé Bostick

Visiting Assistant Professor, Criminal Law

 

Education:

Columbia University School of Law (JD); University of Pennsylvania (BA in English)

 

Marissa Molé Bostick was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York for more than seven years. During her tenure, she served in the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit and the Violent Crimes Unit. She previously was an Associate and then Counsel at O’Melveny & Myers, LLP.

 

Kerin Bischoff Clapp

Visiting Assistant Professor, Legal Writing

 

Education:

University of Pennsylvania Law School  (JD); Bowling Green State University  (BS in Journalism)

 

Kerin Bischoff Clapp previously was an adjunct professor at Widener University Delaware Law School, specializing in legal research and writing. She also was an Adjunct Professor of Business Law at Eastern University. As a practitioner, she was a Staff Attorney for the United States Postal Service Law Department and a litigation associate at Drinker Biddle & Reath. She clerked for the Honorable Norma L. Shapiro of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Jillian Schroeder-Fenlon

Visiting Assistant Professor, Legal Writing

 

Education:

Georgetown University Law Center (JD); Georgetown University (BS in Foreign Service)

 

Jillian Schroder-Fenlon was an Associate at Ballard Spahr LLP, where her practice focused on commercial real estate. She previously was an Associate in the Finance group of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer US LLP. She was actively involved in both firms’ summer associate programs, serving as an assignment coordinator and mentor.
