KeepKidsSafe.pa.gov (KeepKidsSafe.pa.gov) is designed to serve as the hub for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for information related to critical components impacting child protection. Links for mandated reporters to make reports of suspected child abuse electronically, training on child abuse recognition and reporting, information related to clearances and general information related to child protection can be found on this site.

The Child Welfare Information Gateway (https://www.childwelfare.gov/) contains valuable information on child abuse prevention. Its publication, Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse and Neglect, highlights State statutes that identify persons who are required to report suspected child maltreatment to an appropriate agency, such as child protective services, a law enforcement agency, or a State’s toll-free child abuse reporting hotline.

Stop It Now! (http://www.stopitnow.org/) contains information intended to prevent the sexual abuse of children by mobilizing adults, families and communities to take actions that protect children before they are harmed. Additionally, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has joined forces with Stop It Now! to offer its members help when they are unsure about reporting. Resources are available at www.stopitnow.org  and include a helpline, available at 1-888-PREVENT.

Preventing Child Sexual Abuse Within Youth-serving Organizations: Getting Started on Policies and Procedures (http://www.cdc.gov/violenceprevention/pdf/PreventingChildSexualAbuse-a.pdf) is a report of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention designed to assist representatives of youth-serving organizations who are implementing strategies to prevent child sexual abuse.

United States Department of Justice National Sex Offender Public Website is an online registry of convicted sex offenders in the United States.

PA State Policy Megan’s Law Registry is an online registry of convicted sex offenders in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
