MAJOR IN GENDER AND WOMEN'S STUDIES

Our curriculum invites you to think critically about gender differences and sexuality from multiple disciplinary perspectives. Gender and Women's Studies courses are offered in Communication, Economics, English, History and Art History, Nursing, Peace and Justice, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Theatre, and Theology.  We prepare our students to think critically about the stereotypes that inform our understandings of gender and sexuality, encourage respect for difference and cultural diversity, integrate intellectual history with everyday life and foster awareness of current and historical role models to empower students and promote equality.
