Villanova offers many educational resources for students, faculty and staff to utilize throughout their time at the University that focus on overall health and well-being.

 

COMMUNITAS: FIRST-YEAR LEARNING COMMUNITIES

First-year students can opt to participate in the Healthy Living Communitas Learning Community, where they'll explore and learn from others. Communitas is an engaging and unique opportunity for first-year students to thrive through intentional conversation inside and outside the classroom. Villanovans in Communitas embrace new friendships and unique academic endeavors while navigating the college experience together.


MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING COURSES

Learn more about building resilience, responding to challenges, and how to take good care of yourself.

Students can connect to the course directly from the email invitation they received from Foundry or go to https://admin.fifoundry.net/villanova-university/sign_in.


PRESCRIPTION DRUG COURSE

Taking a prescription drug recreationally, or for enjoyment, and not for their intended purpose is drug misuse. To learn more about how to make healthy, safe decisions with prescription drugs, take the free online prescription drug course

Faculty and staff need to request access to the course at healthbytes@villanova.edu.


CAMPUS PUBLICATIONS

The Office of Health Promotion and the University Counseling Center have many information sheets on health and well-being topics that offer a general overview on many health-related concerns. Additionally, the Stall Street Journal addresses health and well-being topics relevant to college students.

Explore easily accessible information on a variety of  topics, including alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, nutrition and fitness.

THRIVE 365

Through Thrive 365, you can engage with a portal that adapts and customizes to your personal and academic goals and interests…365 days a year! By engaging in programs, events and initiatives that focus on the whole person on topics ranging from fitness and sleep to stress management and nutrition, students can enter monthly and end-of-semester raffles for prizes and swag!

NOD App

Nod is like a workout app for your social life! Rooted in evidence-based practices including positive psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness self-compassion, Nod is a science-backed app that provides you with ideas for branching out and staying connected, tips for virtual and in-real-life connections and helps normalize the challenges of maintaining a healthy social life in college.

Download Nod by searching “Nod” in the App store or on Google Play. Once you have downloaded the app, search for “Villanova University” and log in.


AlcoholEdu® for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates

AlcoholEdu® for College and Sexual Assault Prevention for Undergraduates (SAPU) are objective, science-based, online alcohol abuse and sexual assault prevention programs designed specifically for college students as the cornerstone of a comprehensive campus prevention program.

The purpose of the courses is to prevent or reduce alcohol-related problems and incidents of sexual violence among college students while providing a statistically accurate description of the related attitudes, experiences and behaviors of students. Both courses are key components of Villanova University’s Health Promotion program.
