Friends of Villanova Program

Update 8/16/21:

On August 12, Villanova outlined campus protocols ahead of the start of the Fall 2021 semester. These protocols take into consideration the high COVID vaccination rate among students and employees, the lower vaccination rates in the surrounding communities, the prevalence in this region of the Delta variant, and CDC guidance for institutions of higher education. The new campus protocols include the requirement that all visitors to Villanova, regardless of vaccination status, must wear masks inside campus buildings (except when eating and drinking).
With this in mind, we have made the difficult decision to continue the suspension of the Friends of Villanova program through the Fall 2021 semester. This means that there will be no community access to the Fitness Center in the Davis Center for Athletics and Fitness and the pool in the Finneran Pavilion as well as other campus recreation facilities. We sincerely regret the need to continue the suspension of the program and look forward to its return as soon as possible. Updates to this policy will be communicated via email and posted on the Villanova University Neighbor Updates Facebook page.

Program Overview:

Residents (18 years of age or older) of Radnor Township and select neighborhoods contiguous to the University (such as Broughton Lane and portions of County Line Road and Spring Mill Road) can purchase a Friends of Villanova card for a $25 annual fee which grants access on a space-available basis to the facilities and programs listed below.

Friends of Villanova cards must be purchased--and renewed annually--in person at the Wildcard Office located in Dougherty Hall. Individuals must present a valid photo ID to verify address information at the time of initial registration and at each annual renewal. Friends of Villanova ID cards and privileges are not transferable.

Please note that Friends of Villanova cards can not be purchased or renewed during New Student Orientation and the first week of classes during the Fall Semester.

Available Parking: Beginning June 1, 2019 the I-1 parking garage on the corner of Lancaster Avenue and Ithan Avenue will become the only on-campus parking option for Friends of Villanova using campus facilities or attending a campus event. The A-2 lot, behind the Finneran Pavilion, as well as other lots of campus, will no longer be available.

Payment: With this change, annual parking passes will no longer be issued to Friends of Villanova and parking costs for the I-1 garage will instead be as follows:

  • The first hour in the I-1 garage will be free of charge
  • Each hour following will be a $2 per hour charge.
  • You will receive a ticket when you enter the garage. Upon exiting, you will be prompted for payment if you exceed the first free hour. There is a payment kiosk on the first floor by the elevator.

Any outstanding parking passes that have been previously issued will be honored until their expiration date, in the lot that they were issued for.
