Opportunities to be Involved
Neighbors and Friends are invited to be involved in the Villanova University community. Below are just a few examples of opportunities to explore your interests, gain new knowledge, and be entertained - all right here on campus.
Art Gallery
The Villanova University Art Gallery, located on the upper floor of the Connelly Center, features rotating exhibits by a diverse array of guest artists. All exhibits and artists’ receptions are open to the public and are free of charge.
Athletic Events
Villanova University enjoys a rich tradition of athletic success. Wildcat student-athletes have won 19 NCAA team championships and 118 NCAA individual championships – both tops in the Big East Conference. Team schedules and ticket information can be found on the Villanova Athletics website.
Campus Liturgies
Neighbors and Friends are invited to join the Villanova community in worship on campus. Daily and weekend Mass schedules are available on the Campus Ministry website.
Cultural Film and Lecture Series
Villanova's Cultural Film & Lecture Series features ten films per semester featuring multiple showings and a lecture/discussion of each film. The series is integrated thematically; some past series titles are: "Cinematic Images of Women," "Bonding: Family and Friends," "Making Art: The Artist Looks at Himself," "Myths, Memories and Obsessions" and "Film, Faith and Philosophy."
Films screen in the Connelly Center Cinema on Sundays at 3:30 and 7 p.m., and with a speaker on Mondays at 7 p.m. Admission is FREE for all attendees.
Falvey Library
Neighbors and Friends may enjoy access as Courtesy Members to select resources at the Falvey Library. Courtesy Membership is free of charge but members must first obtain a Friends of Villanova card from the Wildcard Office in Dougherty Hall.
One Book Villanova
One Book Villanova is a campus-wide effort spanning the academic year that presents to the University a book worthy of close reading, discussion, course adoption, and the stimulation of dialog among all members of the campus community. St. Thomas of Villanova Celebration
Each fall, the Villanova community begins the academic year with a celebration honoring St. Thomas of Villanova, the 16th-century Augustinian bishop of Valencia, Spain, and patron of the University. Highlighted by a Day of Service, the Celebration includes a series of activities over four days designed to bring to life the University’s Augustinian ideals of Veritas, Unitas and Caritas – Truth, Unity and Love. The John and Joan Mullen Center for the Performing Arts
Villanova’s new Center for the Performing Arts is a hub for performances, creativity, engagement, and exploration for the University’s performing arts community - enriching Villanova’s campus and enhancing educational opportunities across the University.
Each year the University’s award-winning theatre department produces a four-play season with selections chosen from a broad range of classic and contemporary plays and musicals. Productions are directed by faculty and distinguished guest artists, and designed by resident and freelance designers. Graduate students, supervised by a full-time production staff, are the mainstay of the production season, serving as actors, stage managers, and as members of the production crew.
