  • Energy Access Educators Workshop, 10/11-10/12

    This two-day workshop brings together engineering educators that engage undergraduate students in curricular, co-curricular, or extra-curricular humanitarian engineering (HE) activities that are centered on electricity access. The overarching goal of the workshop is to enhance and expand undergraduate engineering courses and activities on electricity access.

  • My Journey in Silicon Valley: The Rise of AI, Self-Driving Cars and NVIDIA, 11/29

    Rob Csongor '83 EE, one of the original employees of NVIDIA, will provide reflections on his career in business and technology and the evolution of NVIDIA, from a startup with no products and zero revenue focused on graphics for video games, to a world leader powering the AI revolution.

  • CO2 Electrolysis Systems for Chemical Production, 10/26

    CBE Speaker and Guest Lecturer Dr. Feng Jiao will speak on how, as our society faces the pressing challenges of climate change and global warming, driven in part by increasing atmospheric CO2 levels, reducing CO2 emissions has become a critical mission in the pursuit of a sustainable future.

  • The Patrick J. Cunningham, Jr. and Susan Ward '80 Endowed Lecture Series in Engineering, 10/20

    “Skin-Like Electronics for the Human Body” will be delivered by Professor John A. Rogers, Querrey Professor of Materials Science & Engineering, Northwestern University. Professor Roger’s talk will address key advances in the field of biocompatible electronics and highlight two devices that recently launched from his lab.

    Undergraduate engineering students are invited to explore the dynamic array of academic minors, enrichment programs, student organizations, and research opportunities available within College of Engineering.

  • 2023 Order of the Engineer Ring Ceremony, 05/01

    Villanova University College of Engineering has invited its graduating seniors and graduate engineers to accept the Obligation of the Engineer in a Ring Ceremony. More than 100 students are expected to be inducted at this year’s event, which will be held at 6 p.m. May 1 in the Villanova Room of the Connelly Center.

  • Franklin Institute Awards Laureate Symposium Honoring Nader Engheta, PhD, 04/26

    Featuring presentations by a select group of world-class experts, this symposium will celebrate the groundbreaking contributions of Nader Engheta, PhD, recipient of the 2023 Benjamin Franklin Medal in Electrical Engineering. Speakers will discuss the current and future trends in the physics of light/matter interaction and present the latest innovations in electromagnetic and optical materials, at an event hosted by Villanova Engineering.

  • Franklin Institute Awards Bower Forum Honoring Deb Niemeier, PhD, PE, NAE, 04/27

    The Bower Forum celebrates the work and achievement of Dr. Deb Niemeier for the 2023 Bower Award and Prize for Achievement in Science. Hosted by Villanova Engineering, this forum will provide an opportunity for Dr. Niemeier and scholars who have worked with her to discuss the future of safe and resilient civil infrastructure systems. The event will include presentations and a panel aligned with the theme of “Rising to the Challenge of Building Equitable, Resilient Communities.”

  • 2023 Distinguished Lecture: Anne Kiremidjian, PhD, 03/31

    Villanova University’s College of Engineering is pleased to announce its 2023 Distinguished Lecture, featuring Anne Kiremidjian, PhD, the C.L. Peck, Class of 1906 Professor in the School of Engineering at Stanford University. The lecture will take place at 2 p.m. Friday, March 31, at the Inn at Villanova. Registration will open in early February.

  • 2023 Ward Lecture: Michel W. Barsoum, PhD, 03/24

    Michel W. Barsoum, PhD, Distinguished Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Drexel University, will deliver the 2023 Patrick J. Cunningham Jr. and Susan Ward ’80 Endowed Lecture in Engineering, hosted by the College of Engineering. The lecture, which is open to the Villanova University community, will be held at 5 p.m. March 24 in the Villanova Room at the Connelly Center. No registration is necessary, and all first-year Engineering students are required to attend.
