College Honors Distinguished Alumni During 48th Villanova University Engineering Alumni Society Awards Dinner

The College of Engineering honored 11 alumni Nov. 6 for their commitment to the College, community and field during the 48th Villanova University Engineering Alumni Society Awards Dinner at Drosdick Hall. William “Bill” M. Brown ’84 ME, ’87 MSME received the J. Stanley Morehouse Award, the College’s highest honor, in recognition of his outstanding leadership and contributions to the engineering profession. The award acknowledges alumni who have made demonstrable contributions to the planning, administration and management of companies and organizations.
Brown is the chairman and CEO of 3M, a global leader in the fields of automotive and industrial technologies, consumer electronics, personal safety and consumer products. In his previous role, as chair and CEO of L3Harris Technologies, Brown was instrumental in establishing INNOVATE, a summer prototyping program for Villanova undergraduates, and the L3Harris Heterogenous Autonomous Vehicle Lab, or HAVLab. In addition, Brown recently contributed to the advancement of the College’s dedication to research and excellence in teaching through a generous gift establishing the William M. Brown ’84, ’87 Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering.
