CBA-GP Recognizes College of Engineering and Dr. Jacky Huang

During its second-anniversary celebration at the Inn at Villanova, the Chinese Biopharmaceutical Association–Greater Philadelphia (CBA-GP) honored Villanova University’s College of Engineering with the CBA-GP Legacy Award and Zuyi (Jacky) Huang, PhD, an associate professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering, with the Dedicated Leadership Award. These honors recognize outstanding contributions to inspiring collaboration within the biopharmaceutical community and advancing scientific partnerships between academia and industry.

Founded in February 2023, CBA-GP has quickly established itself as a leading international organization dedicated to biopharmaceutical innovation, knowledge exchange and professional networking in the Greater Philadelphia region. By bringing together researchers, industry leaders and academic institutions, CBA-GP continues to play a vital role in driving biopharmaceutical research and development.

Villanova’s Support and Leadership in Biopharma Collaboration

Since its inception, Villanova University has been a major supporter and primary host for CBA-GP’s annual conferences and other key events. The College of Engineering, under the leadership of  Michele Marcolongo, PhD, PE, the Drosdick Endowed Dean of Engineering, has provided comprehensive support in every aspect of conference organization, from venue coordination to technical resources, to ensure the success of these gatherings. 

CBA-GP’s inaugural and second-annual conferences, both held at Villanova, attracted more than 400 attendees each year, highlighting the association’s significant impact and the University’s crucial role in its success. In recognition of Villanova’s persistent commitment to advancing biopharmaceutical collaboration, CBA-GP presented the College of Engineering with the CBA-GP Legacy Award.

A driving force behind CBA-GP’s success at Villanova, Dr. Huang has been instrumental in advancing biopharmaceutical research and building a strong collaborative environment between academia and industry. He has played a pivotal role in organizing events that inspire industry-academic partnerships, bolstering CBA-GP’s regional presence and driving its rapid growth. In recognition of his dedication and leadership, CBA-GP honored him with the Dedicated Leadership Award.
