2. Add and Edit Closed Captioning with Mediasite

 

2.1 Manually Add and/or Edit Captions

  • Log into  your MyMediasite portal, click on the title of the presentation for which you wish to add/edit the closed captions.

  • Click on Edit Captions in the right column. The caption editor will appear.


  • To add or edit captions: Enter or edit the caption text in the right-hand column. Click on Add and the caption text will be added to the current video position.

2.2 Upload Captions to Mediasite Presentations

  • Log into  your MyMediasite portal, click on the title of the presentation for which you wish to add/edit the closed captions.

  • Click on Edit Details in the right column. The editor will appear.

  • Select the Delivery tab in the middle of the edit screen.

  • Click on Audio Transcriptions and select the Manually Upload an Audio Caption File radio button. Click Select a File to and then find your caption file to upload. Click on Save button to save the captions.

Please note that Mediasite only supports the following closed caption files: Synchronized Accessible Media Interchange (SAMI), SubRip (SRT), and Distribution Format Exchange Profile (DFXP).

The caption file (VTT) downloaded from Zoom cannot be used directly in Mediasite, you may need to convert it to SRT file at https://subtitletools.com/convert-to-srt-online.
