Held each May during the weekend of Villanova University's Commencement activities, the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing Convocation honors undergraduate and graduate students. The faculty leads a procession of students, the Dean offers remarks, an undergraduate student addresses classmates, distinguished achievements in both programs are recognized, awards are presented, degree candidates are recognized individually and students are welcomed into the Nursing Alumni Association. Convocation concludes with the singing of the alma mater.

Among the awards bestowed upon the degree candidates are:

  • H. Elaine McCaully Award for Clinical Excellence
  • Reverend Francis X. N. McGuire, OSA Award of the Villanova University Alumni Association
  • Joseph Petro and Helen Yura-Petro Award for Achievement in Nursing Theory
  • Claire M. Manfredi Graduate Nursing Leadership Award
  • Hazel Johnson Leadership Award
  • Ralston Center Award for Gerontology Nursing Excellence
