How do I register for Commencement?

Where do I order my cap and gown?

Graduates had to request caps and gowns be shipped directly to them. For missing or replacement items, graduates should visit the University Shop during their operating hours, or any info booth during Commencement Weekend.

Where do I pick up my name card?

All Graduates will need a name card to be used when walking across the stage, and should pick up this card at the Connelly Center Info Desk on Wednesday 5/11 from 3pm-6pm, or Thursday 5/12 from 10am-4pm, or immediately prior to the Commencement Ceremony in the stadium.

Do guests need tickets to attend the ceremony?

All graduates are provided up to four digital guest tickets for the Commencement Ceremony. No additional tickets will be provided. Children 3 and under do not need a ticket. Gates will open one hour prior to the ceremony. In the event of severe weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors and two guests will be permitted.

When will I receive my dipolma? 

The Registrar's Office will mail all diplomas to the address provided on the Prospective Graduate Form or Application to Graduate.  In the absence of a completed form, diplomas will be mailed to the graduates' permanent home address of record.  Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.  If you need to make special arrangements for pickup, please contact the Registrar's Office directly.

What is the severe weather plan?

In the event of rain, the Baccalaureate Mass will be moved into the Finneran Pavilion. 

The Commencement Ceremony will be held outdoors rain or shine.  If necessary, the ceremony start time may be adjusted in the case of a passing weather system.  In the event of severe weather where we are unable to safely hold the ceremony outdoors, the ceremony will be moved into the Finneran Pavilion and will be limited to graduates and two guests. These details, and any changes, will be communicated via email and text alerts as needed.  

Who do I contact if I need special accomodations for the ceremony (i.e. sign language interpreter, etc.)?

What are the dining options on campus?

Dining Services is offering a grab-and-go lunch immediately following the Baccalaureate Mass and prior to the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday 5/13. Reservations Required. 

On-campus à la carte food/beverage options (coffee, water, light refreshments):

  • Friday 5/13: Bartley Exchange Café 7:30am-2:00pm; Holy Grounds @ Connelly 8:00am-2:00pm
  • Saturday 5/14: Bartley Exchange Café 8:30am-2:00pm; Holy Grounds @ Connelly 8:00am-2:00pm

Where can I order graduation announcements?

Graduation announcements, thank you notes, and other commemorative items are available via Villanova University through the Bartley Print Center. You can choose customizable printed announcements which include personalized pictures and text. Announcements can be shipped to your home, office, or student mailbox. How do I access the graduation livestream?

How long will the ceremonies be?

At the ceremonies for Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degree, the names of all graduates will be called, and graduates will walk across the stage when their name is called. Each ceremony will be approximately two and a half hours. The Commencement Ceremony will be immediately followed by the President's and Deans' Reception, a celebratory event with food and drink for graduates and their guests to close out the Commencement celebrations on campus.  

Will the Ceremony have accessible seating?

All ceremony venues are fully accessible. For those unable to manage the bleachers in the stadium, there will be designated seating for guests with special needs. Please alert an usher in the stadium for assistance.

Where can my guests and I park for the ceremony?

All cars will need a digital Commencement parking pass in order to park on campus on Friday 5/13 and Saturday 5/14. Graduates were allocated two parking passes for designated lots on campus, including I-1, I-2, L-1, L-2, L-3, and W-2. 

Accessible/Handicap Parking

Cars may drop off guests needing assistance near the ceremony venue and then proceed to their designated parking lot. To drop-off at the Campus Green, cars should enter campus via the Main Gate off of Ithan Avenue. To drop-off at the Stadium, cars should enter the stadium at Galberry Hall on Lancaster Avenue. Cars with a state-issued handicap placard will be permitted to park in lots A-2, M-1, or M-2. 


Shuttles will run on Friday 5/13 from 9am-6pm between West Campus and Main Campus. Stops will be the West Campus guard gate and the West Campus Tennis Courts, and at the Connelly Circle (9am-11am only), and at the Bartley Hall Guard Gate  (11am-6pm only). No shuttles will operate on Saturday 5/14.
