MESSAGE FROM REV. JOHN P. STACK, OSA VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT LIFE
January 28, 2021
Dear Student,
As the Spring 2021 semester begins, Villanova University is acutely aware that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over, and with the nation seeing new strains and more cases, we will proceed with increased surveillance testing beginning on Monday, February 1. We also have a new app available that will simplify the surveillance testing process.
Participation in surveillance testing is mandatory, and failure to participate will jeopardize your ability to attend in-person classes, reside on campus and/or participate in on-campus activities. Holds may also be placed on records, which will prevent you from receiving grades, registering for classes or receiving your diploma.
Emails will be sent out on Fridays to alert those selected for testing the following week. If you are selected for testing, this email will include further instructions on scheduling your appointment at the Finneran Pavilion.
For details on the surveillance testing process and instructions on downloading the app, please visit our website.
Surveillance testing is an essential component in our COVID-19 mitigation efforts. Surveillance testing enables Villanova’s Student Health Center to make determinations about the level of spread in our community, identify asymptomatic cases for isolation and make timely decisions regarding intervention and response. It is our goal that surveillance testing, along with our other Community First efforts, will allow us to have a full and healthy semester on campus.
In the words of Father Peter, “V’s up, masks on and Community First.” Thank you for all you’ve done—and continue to do—to keep Villanova healthy and safe.
Rev. John P. Stack, OSA
Vice President for Student Life
