MATCH RESEARCH PROGRAM
FOR FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS
The Match Program is an opportunity through which first-year undergraduates can contribute to a research project alongside a faculty mentor in the Spring semester.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH FELLOWS SUMMER PROGRAM (VURF)
Student researchers working with faculty mentors during the summer can apply for financial support. VURF applicants may also request supplemental funding for supplies and equipment related to the proposed research.
Undergraduate students who engage in summer research—either on campus or at other institutions—can share their work with the University community through this annual event.
VERITAS: VILLANOVA RESEARCH
VVRJ is the University's first peer-reviewed undergraduate research journal. Published each fall, it showcases research conducted by current Villanova undergraduates and recent graduates.
Falvey Scholars Award
This annual program—established by Falvey Library—recognizes outstanding undergraduate research.
This award is intended for students who do not have a place to live near campus over the summer and whose research requires access to campus facilities.
Conference and Travel Grants
Any students pursuing undergraduate research may apply for funding to travel to present or conduct research through two distinct grant opportunities.
WHY UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH?
Our advisers work with Villanovans to forge new paths, pursue their boldest ambitions and create the tomorrows about which they dream.
Our advisers help students hone their skills in self-advocacy, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, networking and more. Villanova student-researchers also benefit from mentoring and professional development opportunities. Students are encouraged to consider competitive fellowships, grants and scholarships to support their research activities.
Research opportunities for students are available in various fields of study, both domestically and internationally.
