WRITING AND RHETORIC PROGRAM

Villanova’s Writing and Rhetoric Program provides students with the opportunity to develop intellectually, emotionally, spiritually, culturally and socially. Students learn to examine values, communicate ethically, understand the relationship between language and power, and commit to social justice. By taking courses that focus on topics such as social justice, the environment and anti-racism, students are empowered not only to address these issues but also to ignite change.
WHY WRITING AND RHETORIC?
Students who complete a minor or concentration in the Writing and Rhetoric Program ultimately think, write and speak at a superior level of competency ensuring success in their college classes and post-graduate work.
The Writing and Rhetoric program prepares students for post-graduate programs such as law school or doctoral programs, which often prefer applicants with exceptional writing skills.
The Writing and Rhetoric program increases success in professional careers such as corporate communication (paired with Villanova School of Business), scientific writing (paired with a science major), technical writing (paired with an Engineering major) as well as editing, journalism and teaching, for example.
