"Villanova's counseling program cares so deeply for their students and wants them to succeed. My professors are all dependable, understanding and want to support me."
Describe your interest in your academic program and what you hope to gain from it.
To gain a comprehensive education that will allow multiple employment paths for me in the future! While my primary goal is school counseling, Villanova's counseling program equips their students with the classes and knowledge needed to be eligbilbel to take the National Counseling Exam as well as the Praxis for School Counseling. Even more, I am able to use my elective class credits for the College Admissions Counseling Certificate Program.
What is your favorite course you’ve taken so far? If you are in your first year, what course are you most looking forward to in your program? Why?
I absolutely love my internship class. The hands-on educational experience within a school building allows me to strengthen my counseling skills with the support of both my on-site supervisors and Villanova supervisors and classmates who I meet with weekly.
What are a few things you would like to share with prospective students regarding the Villanova student experience?
Take advantage of the resources Villanova has to offer and get involved in what interests you!
How do you maintain a good school/life balance?
It can be difficult but I make sure to prioritize my assignments in smaller segments to fit in my classes, job and internship as well as a social life and self-care.
If you’re living around Villanova, what are one to two “must do” experiences you would suggest to students new to Villanova and the surrounding area including Philadelphia?
The Juice Pod in Bryn Mawr! Delicious food and smoothies
