Describe your interest in your academic program and what you hope to gain from it.

I chose the MA in Theatre program at Villanova to fully commit to my passion for theatre and deepen my knowledge beyond what I gained through my professional experience. I’m particularly drawn to the program's balance of theoretical and practical approaches, which allows me to explore multiple aspects of theatre—acting, directing, dramaturgy, playwriting and more. I hope to gain a comprehensive understanding of theatre as both an art form and an educational tool. Ultimately, I aim to apply this knowledge in my work, creating meaningful, inspiring theatre and contributing to theatre education.

What is your favorite course you’ve taken so far? If you are in your first year, what course are you most looking forward to in your program? Why?

I'm really excited for The Teaching of Theatre, Voice and Movement, and Directing courses because they align perfectly with my passion for both performing and educating. These classes will help me develop practical skills in performance, teaching, and leadership, which are all essential for my career goals.

What are a few things you would like to share with prospective students regarding the Villanova student experience?

I’d tell prospective students that grad school is really demanding, with a heavy workload and tight deadlines, so strong skills in prioritizing, planning, focus and self-discipline are essential. But if you decide to join Villanova, you'll find a supportive and welcoming community and faculty who are genuinely invested in your success. Plus, our stunning campus, with great study spaces, gyms and a strong sense of belonging, makes the workload much easier and more comfortable to manage.

How do you maintain a good school/life balance?

I’m still establishing my work-life balance, but I'm improving each week. I remind myself that a healthy balance is crucial for my academic success, so I make an effort to prioritize my hobbies and friends a couple of times a week. Spending time in nature, hitting the gym, and using a planner to track tasks and deadlines help me stay organized and motivated. This ultimately boosts my productivity and overall well-being.

If you’re living around Villanova, what are one to two “must do” experiences you would suggest to students new to Villanova and the surrounding area including Philadelphia?

A must-do experience is definitely attending our Theatre Department productions!
