Graduate Studies in Electrical Engineering

Villanova’s Master’s in Electrical Engineering is ideal for working professionals seeking to advance their careers through a part-time program, or those interested in a full-time, research-oriented experience. Our graduates work for companies such as L3Harris Technologies, Lockheed Martin, PECO and Lutron Electronics.
The Master’s in Electrical Engineering offers five concentration areas, as well as an option for a custom degree plan:
- Electronic Circuits and Systems
- Electric Energy Systems
- Microwave, Antenna, and Photonic Systems
- Signal Processing and Communications
- System Dynamics and Controls
For those interested in research, faculty are working in the areas of 5G communication systems, biomedical signals and systems, biophotonics, microgrid management, radar sensing, novel antennas and more.
In addition to the Master’s in Electrical Engineering, graduate certificates are available in Electric Power Systems, Electro-Mechanical Systems, High Frequency Systems and Wireless and Digital Communications. These can be pursued as part of a master’s degree program or as stand-alone certificates. A PhD program with a concentration in Electrical Engineering is also available.
Flexible Options
Classes are conveniently held in the evenings to allow you to successfully balance work and family while earning your degree. You can participate in class on campus, in real-time (synchronously) via our E-Learning program, or on your own schedule through recorded materials and lectures. Our graduate programs are unique in that you can combine online and on campus options, attending class or participating remotely depending upon your availability and preference. You can also complete your electrical engineering graduate degree entirely online.
