MARCH 26 MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN OF STUDENTS
March 26, 2021
Dear Student,
With the spring season and warmer weather officially upon us, I write to you today to ask for your continued agreement to and participation in Community First: The Caritas Commitment.
At the beginning of the semester, we asked all students who chose to return to campus to pledge to follow Villanova’s Health and Safety guidelines. While our numbers have remained low since the surge in positive COVID-19 cases just a few weeks ago, new cases are still being recorded and we saw an increase in our numbers this week. We must remain vigilant in wearing masks, physically distancing and practicing good hygiene—we know these mitigation efforts work in keeping yourself and others healthy.
They may look different, but the weekends ahead bring back the familiar traditions of supporting our men’s basketball team in the NCAA tournament, end-of-year activities and Commencement-related celebrations. Now is when our University and community will be put into the spotlight—let us put our best foot forward in showcasing Community First.
There will be several on-campus activities this weekend and I encourage you to bring your chair, cheer on the Wildcats and enjoy the warmer weather in a safe environment. Please visit our website for additional details on basketball game watches, including an event specifically for seniors.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our community safe as we work together for the health and safety of your fellow students, faculty and staff at Villanova.
Sincerely,
Tom DeMarco
Dean of Students
