Study Abroad Process
First Step Information Session
All students are required to register and attend the first step information session. This is a general meeting offered by the OEA to discuss all program types and options. A program-specific or College run info session on study abroad does not fulfill this requirement.
Once you complete this first step requirement, you can schedule an appointment with an OEA advisor to discuss your individual study abroad interests, program options and questions. Attendance at an information session is required before an appointment with a study abroad advisor can be scheduled.
Next Steps after the Information Session
After your First Step Information Session, be sure to complete an Advising Application in Passport Villanova.
Individual Meeting with OEA Advisor
The OEA is currently prioritizing summer and fall 2023 study abroad student meetings. If you are looking to go abroad in thespring 2024 or beyond, please wait until after April 15th to book your individual meeting.
To schedule an appointment with an OEA advisor, login to Handshake and select one of the following appointment types:
EDUCATION ABROAD: Schedule by Major
If you're still unsure about your specific study abroad intentions or interests, please schedule an appointment based on your major. OEA advisors will help you review your individual academic plan (CAPP) and discuss your College's course requirements and limitations. Your advisor will also provide guidance on what program options and course offerings might be a strong fit for you given your academic, personal and geographic needs and interests.
EDUCATION ABROAD: Schedule by Program Type
If you've selected a study abroad program, schedule an appointment with an OEA advisor to begin the application process and paperwork. Your advisor will outline your next steps and answer any questions you may have about your program in particular or about studying abroad in general.
