Doctoral Faculty

The faculty in the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing have distinguished careers, embracing professional leadership positions and providing consultation at the national and international levels. Faculty who teach in this program are seasoned faculty who have engaged in research and scholarly activities. Selected faculty from other disciplines participate in the program.

Faculty are engaged in research in a variety of areas. Research modalities in which faculty have expertise include correlational and multifactorial designs, survey research, focus group studies, historical research, phenomenological research, and naturalistic inquiry. The College of Nursing faculty were pioneers in the use of distance learning technology at Villanova University.

Our faculty want to ensure that you have a personalized experience in the doctoral program and will become professional mentors for you while you are here on campus or at home.

To further support your PhD journey, we have engaged additional national nursing education and research leaders – our PhD Fellows – who share their expertise and mentorship with you in areas such as transition to doctoral study, research design and statistical analysis plans.

"Obtaining a doctoral degree from Villanova is providing me with the knowledge, mentorship, and tools that are required to achieve my nursing research goals. The doctoral nursing program environment here encourages the open exchange of ideas and is rich with resources and diverse faculty scholars.
