In the picture, I was so fortunate to have just shared in the birth of a couple's first baby.  A truly beautiful moment amidst the stark reality of our current global health crisis.

We are prepared to assist and provide high quality and safe care, as well as comfort to mothers and their significant other during one of the most joyous moments of their lives and yet during one of the most difficult and uncertain of times. COVID-19's presence (sometimes unknown) in our communities far and wide, presents significant challenges to mothers, newborns, families and staff, not to mention our fears and concerns related to our families at home and an unexpected new way of life. There is a never-ending worry of having enough PPE with the surge still considered another week or two away.  Every day there are new policies, protocols and briefings as we learn something new about this virus from other "hot spot" around the world and/or our country.

Being an adjunct maternal/newborn clinical instructor for Villanova has been an incredible pleasure and honor for me the past seven years. I am privileged to work with an awesome team.  Never would I ever imagined trying to hold a clinical rotation via Zoom!  The support and innovation from the Villanova leadership and IT department to get this up and running has been incredible, and I am so grateful to be a part of this Villanova community and family. The students and I are managing quite well actually under the circumstances and will get through it successfully and together!

Villanova's nursing program has helped to lay a foundation that has helped to prepare all of us for the challenges presented during this current public health crisis.   We are professionals committed to practicing and caring for our patients without question. Villanova has provided us with leadership and critical thinking skills that help us to safely navigate the day to day challenges presented to us. I am forever proud to be a part of this community............Stay Safe and well out there!
