Campus Event Support

The Villanova University Grounds Department can provide additional waste bins and collection for outdoor events, while Villanova's Custodial Services Department provides bins and support for indoor events.

If you wish to carry out a "Green Event" or "Zero Waste Event", special accomodations will be necessary.  To establish those accomodations, please contact the Office for Sustainability and VU Waste & Recycling to start those conversations.  Additional volunteer support may be necessary to monitor waste bins and ensure contamination of trash, recycling, or compost bins with unacceptable materials is prevented.  Also, procurement of more sustainable food options and servingwares is a neccessary step to ensure a successful sustainable event.  Villanova University has carried out many successful Zero Waste events when proper planning has been handled, and we even won a national competition in 2024 for Zero Waste events through the Campus Race to Zero Waste.
