The Yellow Ribbon Program

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  The Yellow Ribbon Program offers participating students additional funding towards the cost of tution and fees.   For more information about the Yellow Ribbon Program and eligibility requirements please visit: Yellow Ribbon.

Recipients of the yellow ribbon program will be provided up to $4,150 from Villanova University. This amount will be matched by the VA and the combined funding cannot exceed $8,300 for the 2018 - 2019 academic year. (Aug.1 - Jul. 31)  Villanova provides yellow ribbon funding to a maximum of 18 students annually.  Villanova's participation in the Yellow Ribbon program is reviewed annually and subject to VA approval. 

The Yellow Ribbon Program is awarded to qualifying students on a first-come, first-served basis. To be considered, qualifying students must:

  • Be eligible for the maximum benefit rate under the Post 9/11 GI Bill®
  • Not be serving on active duty or a spouse of an active duty member utilizing the transferred entitlement
  • Be accepted into or already enrolled in a degree program at Villanova University
  • Submit a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to Villanova University's School Certifying Official (listed below).

Recipients will be selected based upon the date by which all conditions are met.

Students interested in the Yellow Ribbon Program for future terms must submit an application in order to be placed on the waitlist.  Students will be contacted by Villanova's SCO when they have been selected to participate in the program.  If you do not meet the above qualifications or have not submitted your COE your application will not warrant further consideration.

Instructors, please check your fall 2018 class lists for attendance.

Go to 
myNOVA and enter Class List in the search field to access the Class List task item.  From there you will be directed to NOVASIS class list (log in required).  Make sure you are accessing the fall 2018 term to view current class lists.

Contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@villanova.edu to report students listed on your class list that have never attended or have stopped attending.  It is the student's responsibility to obtain an authorized withdrawal from his/her College advisement office; otherwise a penalty grade will be given. 

Also, students may not attend courses unless they are officially registered and enrolled as indicated on the class list.   Please advise non-enrolled students attending your courses that they may not attend the course without prior registration. Please report non-enrolled students attending your course to the Office of the Registrar at registrar@villanova.edu.
