PSYCHIATRIC-MENTAL HEALTH NURSE PRACTITIONER CERTIFICATE
The Psychiatric-Mental Health Post-Graduate Certificate prepares experienced nurses for career advancement in caring for individuals with mental and behavioral health issues. Courses build on existing skills and broaden knowledge related to providing mental and behavioral health services to individuals across the lifespan. Students work with physicians and nurse practitioner preceptors in a wide variety of clinical agencies and practice settings.
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate is 25 - 36 credits and 730 clinical hours. The minimum time for program completion is 1.5 years, and students have up to five years to complete certificate requirements from first enrollment. Support courses are offered on-campus at Villanova University or online, while clinical courses are taught on-site.
