FACULTY RESEARCH AND INNOVATION

With a growing research and innovation enterprise, the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing is an environment for inquiry, new discoveries, imagination, and collegiality where interprofessional collaboration is encouraged.

Who We Are

Our community of scholars reflects the College’s mission and commitment to social justice. We also embody Villanova University’s institutional interdependence of teaching, research and scholarship as a Carnegie-classified doctoral university.

We are committed to inspiring each other to ignite change.

Impact of Unique Partnerships

With the support of the Office of Nursing Research and Innovation, our doctorally prepared faculty conduct research and lead innovative projects, meeting societal needs and establishing standards. Some of this work is done through our research interest groups—the Family Research Group (FRG), the Gerontology Interest Group ("The GiG"), and the Research for Equity and Justice Collective (REJC).

Through unique faculty-student partnerships with first-year BSN through doctoral students, these mentors and exemplars also enable the flight of the students’ spirit of inquiry.

What’s the outcome? Groundbreaking research. Next generation galvanized.
