With a growing research enterprise, the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing is an environment for inquiry, innovation, imagination, and collegiality where interprofessional collaboration is encouraged.

Who we are

Our community of scholars reflects the College’s mission and commitment to social justice as well Villanova University’s status as a Carnegie-classified doctoral university and its institutional interdependence of teaching, research and scholarship.

We are committed to inspiring each other to ignite change.

Impact of unique partnerships

Our doctorally-prepared faculty conduct research, meeting societal needs and establishing standards.  Some of this work is done through our research interest groups - the Family Research Group (FRG), the Gerontology Interest Group ("The GiG"), and the Research for Equity and Justice Collective (REJC).

Through unique faculty-student partnerships with freshmen through doctoral students, these mentors and exemplars also enable the flight of the students’ spirit of inquiry.

What’s the outcome? Groundbreaking research. Next generation galvanized.
