MAJOR IN SPANISH STUDIES

Whether by itself or as a second discipline, a Spanish major offers you the opportunity to learn a language and culture firsthand.

Students participate in on-campus internships—translating Spanish for students at the Law School—as well as community outreach opportunities in Latin America with the school of Nursing, Habitat for the Humanities and Center for Culture, Art, Training and Education. They participate in internships in science labs or at major businesses, and they conduct research on topics of interest to them. Beyond Villanova, our alumni have found professional success in such fields as Law, Real Estate, Banking, Medicine, Language Education, as well as serving as Program Coordinators or Directors on college campuses, in corporations, and at nonprofits. Additionally, our Spanish majors are among the most successful in the nation in acquiring Fulbright scholarships to teach English abroad for an entire academic year.
