STUDENT ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION
The Center for Inclusive Education provides financial support to undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences who are pursuing experiences to enhance their academic and professional development.
Students may apply for funding to support their participation in programs including:
- Student presentations at academic or professional conferences
- Education Abroad Programs
- Faculty-mentored research
- Unpaid internships
- Immersive learning experiences (Villanova on the Hill, Villanova at the Agency, Villanova on Set, etc.)
- Travel expenses for any of the above
*Please note that financial need is considered as part of the review process.
*Funding Request is not for expenses related to: tuition or credits, health insurance, or medical bills.
Eligibility
Student applicants must be an active, full-time CLAS student. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits—full-time status during the fall or spring semester. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least three credits during fall, spring or summer semester. Applications must be submitted prior to the experience and may not be submitted retroactively for past experiences.
Applying for Funding
Students must complete the online application, which will require:
- A rationale and purpose for the funding request
- Professional resume
- Short essay explaining the fundings potential impact on the student’s intellectual and professional development
- An itemized list of anticipated expenses and include sources of requests for funding
The review committee evaluates applications during each funding cycle. Applications must be submitted a minimum of four weeks prior to the start of the experience or opportunity. Applicants will be evaluated based on need. There is a $2,500 dollar limit for CIE funding awards per academic year. Students are eligible to apply once per semester.
