Graduate Studies in Civil Engineering
Villanova’s Master’s in Civil Engineering is ideal for working professionals seeking a modern, relevant and comprehensive program in which learning is directly applicable to your career. Our graduates are working for companies such as AECOM, Gannett Fleming, Pennoni, McMahon Associates and Jacobs Engineering.
Students in the Master’s of Civil Engineering program can choose from five concentration areas or may create an interdisciplinary program that combines two areas of interest:
- Geotechnical Engineering
- Structural Engineering
- Transportation Engineering
- Water Resources Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
While the degree can be earned part time in an online format, those choosing a hands-on experience will appreciate the College of Engineering’s impressive Richard K. Faris ’69 CE, ’70 MSCE Structural Engineering Teaching and Research Laboratory for testing of full-scale and component size infrastructure elements. In addition, a new Transportation Simulation Laboratory is part of the College’s Advanced Simulation complex.
In addition to a master’s degree, Villanova University offers a full- or part-time PhD program with a concentration in Civil Engineering.
Villanova’s Center for Resilient Water Systems (VCRWS)
VCRWS is home to the Villanova Urban Stormwater Partnership (VUSP) and several of the nation’s leading experts in the field of stormwater control management and green infrastructure.
