Professor of Practice, Management & Operations Department
Matt is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Management and Operations and the Faculty Director for the Center for Church Management in the Villanova University School of Business. In addition to overseeing the Center for Church Management, he teaches both undergraduate and graduate students in Organizational Management; Leadership Ethics and Catholic Social Thought; Team Leadership and Group Dynamics; and Pastoral Strategic Planning.
Prior to joining Villanova, Matt was a Strategic Business Unit Director for the Franklin Mint and was responsible for a $100 million line of diecast collectible cars. He also spent 18 years with the Catholic Leadership Institute and served as President and CEO for 13 years, growing it from a local all-volunteer organization with $15,000 a year in revenue to an international leadership training and consulting organization with 26 full-time employees and $6.1 million in annual revenues.
Matt has a BS in Economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and an MS in Church Management from Villanova. He and his wife, Kerri, live outside of Philadelphia and have three children. In his free time, Matt enjoys running and has completed 8 marathons and an Ironman triathlon.
Director, Center for Church Management
Chesley Turner joined the Center for Church Management team in the summer of 2019, after earning her Masters in Church Management and the Bartley Medallion in May 2019. Chesley has a wide range of both church and corporate work experience, having served as the first lay director of the National Shrine of Saint Rita of Cascia from June 2017 to August 2019. She boasts a decade of experience in corporate marketing for business and leisure travel companies in the Philadelphia area and supplemented her career with a year of service as an Augustinian Volunteer teaching pre-school in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Chesley graduated from Villanova University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Art History and Honors. She lives in Philadelphia, where she is very active at her parish, Saint Augustine Church in Old City, singing for Masses, weddings and special liturgies.
Associate Director, Center for Church Management
Daniel has been a part of the Villanova community, both as a student and an employee, since the summer of 2010. Prior to joining the Center for Church Management in February of 2020, Daniel served as the Assistant Director for Recruitment in the Graduate Business Programs office, managing recruitment and admissions for both part-time and full time graduate business programs. Having spent his entire career in education, Daniel also has extensive experience in admissions operations, information systems, curriculum development, data management and analysis, and communications.
Daniel received a BA in English and History from Emory University in 2010 and an MA in English from Villanova in 2015. He lives in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Holly, and three children. When he finds himself with free time, he enjoys running, reading, and watching football.
