Giving FAQs
Thank you for considering a gift to Villanova! Every contribution makes a difference, and making a gift online is the fastest and most secure way to create an immediate impact. And you can pay your way—via credit card, direct ACH transfer or mobile wallets including, PayPal, Apple Pay and Venmo.
When making your gift, consider supporting the Villanova Annual Fund or Villanova Scholarship Fund. These unrestricted designations give Villanova the maximum amount of financial flexibility to meet the most immediate and pressing needs. You can also choose to support any area of campus that matters to you. To browse a list of fund options, please visit our primary giving form.
Villanova’s fiscal year runs from June 1 through May 31 each year. Gifts made within that timeframe are credited toward your fiscal year total.
Yes, you will receive a tax receipt for every charitable transaction made to Villanova, with the exception of gifts made through a donor-advised fund (DAF). While DAF gifts are acknowledged by the University, a tax receipt is generated by the sponsoring organization. For gifts made online, you will receive an automated confirmation email containing your tax receipt. For gifts made by check, stock, wire transfer or other means, your receipt will be sent via email within one week of receiving your payment. If you have no active email address on record, your tax receipt will be mailed to your address on file.
Yes! You can choose to make a recurring gift through automated payments on a monthly or annual basis for up to five years. To set up a recurring gift online, please visit our dedicated recurring giving form.
You can adjust a recurring gift at any time via the modification link included in your email confirmation. Please contact theannualfund@villanova.edu if you are having trouble locating your link.
If there is an issue with processing your payment due to an expired credit card, change in billing address or otherwise, you will receive an email with instructions for modifying your payment information.
Making a payment toward your existing pledge online is simple through our dedicated pledge giving form. No need to search for your gift’s designation; we will take care of that for you once your payment is received. If you have multiple pledge payments due, you can simply enter the total payment amount, and a staff member will allocate your gift accordingly.
Many companies offer a matching gift program that can double (or even triple!) your gift to Villanova, increasing your support for the area(s) of campus that mean the most to you. Please use our matching gift search tool to determine if you or your spouse are affiliated with a company that matches employee charitable contributions. For questions about matching or employer gifts, please contact matchinggifts@villanova.edu.
To make a gift in memory of a loved one, please visit our dedicated memorial giving form. Through this form, you will have the option to send a letter of acknowledgement to the next of kin.
To make a gift in honor of someone, please visit our primary giving form. Following your completed payment, you will find the option to name your honoree and send a letter of acknowledgement.

Gifts made via a DAF provide flexible opportunities to support Villanova, through a recommended grant now or as a tool for future charitable giving.
