SPRING 2021 GUIDELINES FOR CAMPUS LIVING
Dear Residential Student,
Villanova and the Office for Residence Life are excited to welcome you back to campus for the Spring 2021 semester! The Office for Residence Life commends you for your continued commitment to put Community First and is looking forward to a successful spring. This email provides important information regarding pre-arrival testing, your return to campus and residence hall policies.
SPRING 2021 PRE-ARRIVAL COVID-19 TESTING
All students residing in the United States are required to complete an at-home COVID-19 test—the result of which must be negative before returning to residence halls. Please register for your kit as soon as possible if you have not yet done so. If you are traveling to campus this semester from abroad, you will not participate in Quest pre-arrival testing and should instead email studenthealthcenter@villanova.edu to arrange for COVID-19 testing upon your arrival to campus.
All students must complete the CARITAS Commitment form certifying participation in COVID-19 pre-arrival testing and acknowledging your agreement to put Community First before returning to campus.
RETURN TO CAMPUS: RESIDENCE HALL MOVE-IN
To help manage campus density and ensure social distancing, all residential students are required to register for a move-in date and time. Move-in will take place Friday through Sunday, January 22-24. If you have not done so already, please complete the Spring 2021 Move-In Registration form to sign-up.
When you arrive, please go directly to your residence hall. You will have access to your room via your Wildcard at your scheduled arrival time. RAs will be available in your hall if you have any questions.
As a reminder:
- You may bring no more than two additional people to assist with move-in.
- Face coverings must be worn at all times during the move-in process.
- If you or anyone accompanying you to campus are experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or is not feeling well, please do not come to campus. We will gladly extend your move-in opportunity to ensure that you are well.
POLICY REMINDERS
It remains necessary to modify our behaviors in the residence halls to ensure the health and safety of the community, and the policies below continue to be in effect in the residence halls. Please visit our website for a complete list of residence hall policies.
Failure to comply with these or other policies adopted in response to COVID-19 will be considered a serious violation of the CARITAS Commitment, the Code of Student Conduct, and will result in disciplinary sanctions including loss of on-campus housing privileges.
Face Masks and Social Distancing:
- Students must wear face masks that cover the mouth and nose at all times in the residence halls except when in their rooms alone or only with their roommate(s).
- Face masks must be worn in common areas of residence halls such as hallways, lounges, laundry rooms, and bathrooms (except when showering and brushing teeth).
- Students should maintain at least six feet of distance between themselves and other individuals in the residence halls whenever possible, even when wearing a mask.
Guests:
- Only current Villanova students are permitted in the residence halls. Non-Villanova visitors are not permitted.
- If you visit someone else’s room/apartment, you are considered a guest of that room/apartment.
- If guests are in a room/apartment, then all occupants, including residents, must wear a face mask.
- Visits by family members to the residence halls are limited to assistance with pick-up and drop-off of items only. Face masks must be worn and social distancing guidelines must be followed at all times.
Given space limitations and to ensure social distancing, the following guidelines have been established for the number of total occupants permitted in a room/apartment at any one time:

Single Room |
2 |

SELF-CARE
The University offers many resources that support mental health and well-being, physical health, and spiritual health. We encourage you to utilize these resources and use them to engage in necessary self-care.
Thank you in advance for your continued cooperation and for helping us start the Spring 2021 semester successfully. Together we will continue to put our Community First. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at residencelife@villanova.edu.
Sincerely,
