Surveys

What is it?

A Blackboard survey is an anonymous questionnaire used to gather information and feedback from course participants. Surveys are typically ungraded and responses are only able to be viewed as overall percentages rather than individual answers. Blackboard surveys are created very similarly to Blackboard tests.

Why Faculty use Surveys

Instructors incorporate surveys in their Blackboard courses for a number of reasons. Surveys can be useful for gathering feedback on such things as course organization, instructor performance, instructional practices and student satisfaction. They can also be useful for gathering student opinions/viewpoints on topics that may be too sensitive to discuss in class or require the anonymity of the respondent.
