Commencement 2021
March 2, 2021 |
Dear Graduates of the Villanova Class of 2021 and their Families,
I am pleased to announce that, with yesterday’s announcement from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania regarding outdoor events, we plan to hold in-person Commencement activities for our graduating students. However, in order to comply with current health and safety protocols and ensure that the experience for our graduates remains the priority, we have made the difficult decision not to have guests in attendance.
I understand that this is an important moment in the lives of not only our graduates, but their families and friends as well, so we are committed to finding creative and innovative ways to involve everyone in the celebration. We are still in the process of finalizing our plans, but there will be a fully virtual option for any graduate who chooses not to attend in person, as well as virtual components of the events for family and friends. In the next few weeks, we will be reaching out with more specific information and details about the weekend so you can plan accordingly.
As a reminder, the dates for Commencement Weekend are Thursday, May 13, through Saturday, May 15. For more information, please visit our commencement page.
To our graduating students, as with everything this semester, our ability to move forward with these plans rests in your hands. Please make good decisions. Please continue to embody the CARITAS Commitment. And please continue to put Community First. I want you to have this moment with your classmates, and I know it’s possible if we all work together.
V’s Up. Masks On. Community First.
Sincerely,
Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA
President
