Veronica Ryan Coleman Endowed Scholarship
Thanks to the generosity of Villanova University Trustee and 1978 graduate George Coleman, Kolbe Cathedral (Bridgeport, Conn.) high school students and New York City high school students entering college in Fall 2024 may be eligible for the Veronica Ryan Coleman Endowed Scholarship.
Purpose:
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial assistance to academically talented full-time undergraduate students in the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing at Villanova University.
Award:
This scholarship is awarded for one academic year with preference for renewing for the same recipient in subsequent years based on conditions of eligibility and remaining in good academic standing.
There is only one Coleman scholar at a given time in the College of Nursing.
Eligibility:
Academically talented high school student applicants must have demonstrated financial need and be attending high school at Kolbe Cathedral (Bridgeport, Conn.) or in New York City or surrounding counties (preference given to those attending high school in the Bronx).
To be considered for the scholarship by the University review committee, a student:
- must have already applied to Villanova University indicating they seek admission as a full-time undergraduate student to the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing 4-year Traditional BSN program and must be admitted
- must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the College Board CSS Profile by January 15 of their senior year. Refer to the website of the Office of Financial Assistance for details: https://www1.villanova.edu/university/office-of-financial-assistance.html .
