PREPARING FOR SPRING 2022

All faculty, staff and students who will be physically on campus or taking in-person classes are required to be tested in January. The following outlines our spring semester arrival testing plans:

Week of January 3

  • Undergraduate students participating in Panhellenic recruitment will be tested on January 5.
  • Law students who have returned to campus will be tested on January 6 and 7.
  • On-campus faculty and staff will be tested on Thursday, January 6, and Friday, January 7, through our surveillance testing program. (If a faculty or staff member is not scheduled to be on campus on January 6 or 7, they may sign up to be tested the week of January 10.)

Week of January 10

  • Undergraduate students living on campus and full-time graduate students physically on campus or taking in-person classes in January.
  • All other law students not tested during the week of January 3.

Week of January 17

  • Undergraduate and graduate students living off-campus.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are within 90 days of a confirmed positive COVID-19 PCR test, you are exempt from arrival testing and surveillance testing. Please send positive PCR test result documentation to covidsurvey@villanova.edu. You can also email covidsurvey@villanova.edu to receive answers to any specific questions you may have about your situation.

Surveillance testing will continue through the semester unless conditions warrant a change.

Participation in arrival and surveillance testing is mandatory.

The COVID-19 booster dose is required for all eligible students, faculty and staff.  Individuals are eligible for the booster five months following their second shot in the two-dose series (Pfizer and Moderna). Individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson shot are eligible to receive the booster two months following their initial vaccine.

Documentation of the COVID-19 booster must be uploaded into Villanova’s secure portal by Monday, January 31, 2022. Individuals not yet currently eligible for the booster can upload documentation as soon as they are able. All documentation will be kept confidential.

An individual who has previously been approved for a medical or religious accommodation to Villanova’s vaccine requirement does not need to request an additional accommodation for the booster requirement. Twice-weekly surveillance testing will continue to be required for those approved for a vaccine accommodation.
