Health Promotion for Women with Disabilities

The M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing serves society in many ways; among them is the Health Promotion for Women with Disabilities Project directed by Dr. Suzanne Smeltzer. Several years ago the College received a 4-year grant from Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation towards its commitment to making health promotion practices and services accessible and acceptable for those who are physically challenged.

The project's goal is to provide information for women with disabilities so they can be informed consumers of health care, ask relevant questions of their health care providers, and take measures to achieve a healthier lifestyle and a better quality of life.
