Theology on Tap

Theology on Tap

Theology on Tap is a speaker series designed for young adults to meet others and explore topics of faith in a relaxed, social environment.  This year topics will explore the importance of the dignity of all persons.  Issues including work, religious difference, work, poverty, and the environment will be presented by Villanova faculty and staff.  Participants are encouraged to consider and respond to brief talks through Q&A and table conversations.  Free food is always served.

Sports & Spirituality

Villanova Men's Basketball

In the spirit of Villanova’s motto, "veritas, unitas, caritas," the Sports & Spirituality program seeks to provide opportunities for all student-athletes, regardless of faith or spiritual tradition, to connect with themselves and their teammates through the lenses of play, sports, and competition. Reflections, retreats, and other opportunities invite student-athletes to enrich their spiritual lives through personal prayer and reflection, conversation and sharing with teammates, and exploring their love for sports. Contact David Walsh for more information.

Get Real

Get Real

Get Real Small Group Discussions are an open, inviting space to come together with other first year students looking to connect on a deeper level. The Campus Ministry Interns will facilitate these weekly gatherings in their residence hall rooms or in the lounge of a neighboring hall.  Find a Get Real near your dorm.

Oasis LGBTQ Outreach

Oasis LGBTQ Outreach

Oasis is a confidential, small group opportunity where a safe zone is established to engage in an open dialogue about the issues relevant to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, or questioning individuals. Participants share their experiences and connect with one another on their journey.

Oasis is open to all students trying to understand issues of sexual orientation or gender identity and offers relief from isolation and an opportunity to find true friendship, and the authentic Augustinian community that results from a common dedication to the truth and a shared vision of the dignity of the human person.

Oasis meets regularly in the evening throughout the semester. For further information contact Father Joe Calderone at [610] 519–7477. We will discreetly respond to all earnest calls with the location and time of our next meeting.

Students can also find resources within Student Life through VU Pride and Safe Zone.

A Space for Lament and Listening

On Wednesday, Sept 5 Campus Ministry will offer

A Space for Lament and Listening

In light of the recent revelations about numerous instances of sexual abuse of children by clergy across PA and other forms of exploitation of children including victims of child pornography, especially as these have touched our own University and the Office of Campus Ministry, we will hold a space of lament and listening for any members of the Villanova community who wish to name their feelings, pray, and be heard by Campus Ministers.  Various forms of prayer, meditation, naming and sharing feelings, and grieving for victims of sexual abuse will be available for any members of our community to participate in and come and go as they choose.

Schedule of vigil:

Opening prayer | 3-3:15PM
Grotto (rain location: Corr chapel)

Prayer and listening stations available | 3:15-4:45PM
Grotto and Corr chapel

Closing prayer | 4:45-5PM
Corr Hall archway and steps

Mass of Lament | 5:30PM
Corr Chapel

Inspired by St. Augustine’s realization that Truth about God, the world, and my own identity can only be authentically explored through relationship with others, Campus Ministry provides various opportunities to search together.  On campus and off, formal and informal, we seek to support and challenge one another  as we encounter differences, learn what we do not yet, celebrate life’s joys, and mourn its sorrows.  Explore the possibilities below or let us know if you have something you’d like to see.
