The O’Donnell Center provides professional development activities that enrich students’ academic experiences and prepare them for professional. These opportunities allow students to learn about themselves and the business world from practitioners, as well as apply what they’re learning in the classroom.

Backpack to Briefcase (B2B) is an innovative initiative, integrating professional development into the core business curriculum throughout a student’s four-year academic program.

Make mentoring part of your VSB experience. The VSB Mentor Program brings VSB students and alumni volunteers together in one-to-one relationships to support the student’s career and professional development goals.

Externships, Internships and CoOps

Every undergraduate student is encouraged to participate in externship/leadership programs and complete at least one business internship or CoOp experience as a means of gaining real-world experience. We provide guidance on conducting a business internship search and the Rise to the Top: Educational Series.


Students Talking

The O’Donnell Center sponsor and co-sponsor more than 100 career events each academic year. These career programs provide students with venues to interact with more than 500 practicing professionals each year, many of whom are VSB alumni representing their employers.

Membership and involvement in the organizations provides outlets to gather information focused on a specific industry and/or career path, connect with employers and network with students who share similar professional interests.
