INDIVIDUAL WRITING CONSULTATIONS
The Villanova Institute for Research and Scholarship (VIRS) offers editorial consultations for Villanova faculty and post-docs to develop works-in-progress of any genre: articles, books, grant proposals, research statements, creative projects, promotion dossiers and more.
Whether you are a first-time or experienced grant proposal writer, whether this is your first or thirteenth book or journal article, these consultations can be beneficial at several stages of the writing process. For instance, if a writer has hit a roadblock in the form of the organizational logic of their manuscript or is stuck on a conceptual framework, a consultation can help the writer determine the best discursive solution. An editorial consultation can also help integrate feedback from journal or press reviewers at the pre-publication stage, check for alignment between a grant proposal and funder mission, or even tailor a book proposal for a particular press.
Whatever the specific recommendations, the primary goal of a consultation is to provide writing support to improve the persuasiveness, clarity, and concision of an author's prose.
Please contact the Assistant Director for Faculty Writing Initiatives to schedule a consultation.
