PERSONAL ENRICHMENT SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAM
The College of Professional Studies is committed to being a resource for lifelong learning and offers the opportunity for individuals age 65 and above to attend undergraduate level courses at Villanova University.
Personal Enrichment students are able to enroll, on a space available basis, for undergraduate courses in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Villanova takes pride in supporting individuals seeking lifelong learning and our undergraduates greatly benefit from the life experience and wisdom that our seniors bring to the classroom.
The Personal Enrichment program for undergraduate courses resumed in Fall 2021. Please see below for registration information. We are pleased to continue running our "Community Mini-Course" series; see below for more information and registration links.

Dr. Stanley Cohen, MD
After a career as an immunologist beginning with the discovery of cytokines and cytokine networks, Dr. Cohen became interested in integrating computational imaging with digital workflows in scientific research. He previously served as President of the American Society for Investigational Pathology, and Treasurer and Member of the Executive Board of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology.
Dr. Cohen's science-related activities also include chairmanships of study sections for the NIH and DOD and membership on multiple editorial boards. He is currently the Associate Editor for digital and computational pathology and artificial intelligence for the American Journal of Pathology. He has also lectured extensively on the basics of machine learning for people without traditional computer science backgrounds.
Dr. Chhavi Chauhan, PhD
Dr. Chauhan works as Director for Scientific Outreach at the American Society for Investigative Pathology and Director of the Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program at the Journal of Molecular Diagnostics. She is one of the leaders of the Women in AI Ethics Collective and an expert at the AI Policy Exchange.
Dr. Chauhan is a biomedical researcher, expert scholarly communicator, and a sought after mentor in the fields of scientific research, scholarly publishing, and AI Ethics, especially for women and minorities. She is a thought leader, a renowned international speaker, and a strong advocate for equitable and accessible healthcare.
- Personal Enrichment applications for Spring 2022 will open in mid-October.
- The registration request form will go live on January 14th. This form will be open from 9am Friday, 1/14 until 4pm Tuesday, 1/18.
- Online Registration for the Spring semester will take place on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 8am to 4pm.
- A list of courses available for Personal Enrichment students will be posted here in December. The courses on the provided list will be the only courses available for registration, pending availability. Special requests will not be accepted.

Personal Enrichment students will be allowed access the University's secure vaccination information portal (Villanova.medicatconnect.com) after they are registered for a class on September 7th. Once you receive your registration confirmation email, you can follow the link and upload your vaccination documentation.
